This classic ceramic oval gratin dish has a large surface area for spreading a thin layer of food with a perfectly browned crust or topping, but with sufficient depth for serving generous portions. It is designed with gently sloping sides to ease out the cooked food. The handles make it easy to remove the dish from the oven with oven mitts. The colourful and attractive dish can go from the freezer to the oven to the table for a beautiful presentation.
When cooking and baking, ceramic diffuses the heat slowly and evenly. This handmade ceramic bakeware has a highly resistant glaze which does not scratch or craze and is highly resistant to chipping; the glaze is so hard, you can cut inside the dish without harming the surface. The bakeware also has a high resistance to large differences in temperature, and can go from the freezer to a preheated oven.
